Starting School year 2018-19
Grade 8 students going into Grade 9. Requests for assignment to Oyster River must be submitted to SAU 74 (attention of the Superintendent) the year prior to the requested enrollment. There will be a form posted on the website. No requests will be accepted prior to September 15 or after February 1.
Siblings will be defined as biological, adoptive, step‐siblings living in the same house in Barrington.
Students (and families) who are considering ORHS for their high school option should attend the Information Night scheduled on TBD.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about what the school has to offer in terms of academics, student activities, and supports.
There are also a couple of Group Tours that will be scheduled for the middle of November:
Please contact the ORHS Counseling Office at 868-2375 x 6032 to RSVP for a tour. Once you arrive at the high school, you will be directed to the counseling office.
These tours are a great opportunity for families to explore Oyster River High School during a normal school day. Think of it as a super mini shadow day for guardians! :)
Check out the link to the Oyster River High School flyer below for additional information!
Students who are interested in attending Oyster River High School are encouraged to spend a day shadowing a current Freshman (Grade 9) student. This is called a SHADOW DAY, and it is very helpful in providing a glimpse into the life of a Grade 9 student at Oyster River.
Any student who is interested in shadowing at Oyster River High School should contact the High School Counseling Secretary: Sandi Osterloh via email
( firstname.lastname@example.org ) or by phone at 603.868.2375 x6032.
Shadow Days are considered excused absences AS LONG AS you notify Mrs. Rouleau or the front office of your planned absence.
Oyster River High School is a School of Record for the 2018/2019 school-year. This means that students will be able to-attend ORHS with no extra tuition cost to families. However, enrollment will be limited to a certain number of spots. As a result, a lottery process has been established to determine acceptance.
Students interested in attending ORHS for the 2018/19 school-year must submit a written application, residency affidavit, and proof of residency to the SAU between the dates of September 17, 2018 and February 1, 2019.
